Blogwettbewerb 3: English, Please! Project Week ‘LevelUp’ of Class 7b and 7c

On Monday we all gathered in the cafeteria. The trainers introduced themselves: Rodshir from New York City, Mirren from Glasgow and Andy from Sydney. After that it was our turn. We were supposed to introduce ourselves in a playful way (we played a game called ‘chicken and egg’) by finding a partner and asking a question. Then we all went to different rooms with the trainers and they explained to us how the whole week was supposed to go. In the film group, the first thing we did was to write a screenplay and decide who would play which role. Since it was very warm we had to finish at 11.50 a.m.

Filming started the next day. Of course we had to make breaks. We also played a question-game where you choose between “Hell yeah!”, “Maybe Baby” and “Hell no!”. Our group finished filming that day so we could relax a little. On Wednesday, a few groups continued shooting, but other groups had already started editing individual scenes, adding music and effects and of course subtitles, because in some places you didn’t understand what was said. On Thursday we came up with introductions for our films, because we were going to present them. In the afternoon we started setting up the stage in the gym. And then came already the first students who wanted to watch the show. First the musicians presented their show, then the theatre group and finally the films were shown. On Friday there were two groups – one group went to Berlin and visited the Humboldt Forum. The other group cleaned up the cafeteria’s rooms, where the groups had been working during the week. After that this group played a team game and watched an English movie.

The project week was a lot of fun and we also learned lots of new things.
